What you need
- Windows 10 or 11.
- Persona 4 Golden on Steam, the PC version.
- A screen reader. NVDA is what the mod is built and tested with.
What it does
- Everything speaks: menus, dialogue with speaker names, choices, popups, shops, the Velvet Room, the calendar, Social Links, TV programs and the quiz show.
- Battles, fully spoken: whose turn it is, damage taken and dealt, weaknesses, buffs, Shuffle Time, results and level-ups.
- Dungeons you can navigate: a mapping cursor, doors, chests, stairs and shadows listed with directions and distances, auto-walk to any of them, a wall sound, and a sound map that places every shadow around you.
- The town and the world: every town map and every dungeon lobby has a spoken description of its layout, landmarks and exits. As you walk, the mod names the spot you enter, and the Check prompt tells you what it points at.
- Cutscenes: subtitles read aloud, with optional spoken descriptions of what is on screen.
- A guide built in: a spoiler-safe walkthrough to the true ending lives inside the mod's help.
- Keyboard or controller, with an in-game settings menu for every sound, volume and reader option.
Installing
- Download and run the installer above. Follow its steps.
- Start the game from the "Persona 4 Golden Access" shortcut it creates.
- In the game, press F1 for the settings menu and its Help section, which lists every control.
To update later, run the installer again. It updates the mod in place and keeps your settings and learned data.
Languages
The mod's own speech is in English. The game's text is read correctly in every language the game offers, including French, Italian, German, Spanish, Japanese, Chinese and Korean, with the language picked up from Steam automatically.
